Shariah Enforcement Begins At Major U.S. College

The First Amendment is the cornerstone of the U.S. Constitution, but you wouldn’t know that if you attend the University of New Mexico (UNM), where the cherished amendment has literally been shredded to pieces and replaced with Shariah law. How so? The university just passed Resolution 6S, a ruling that bans Islamophobia, which it conveniently describes as any “dislike or prejudice against Islam or Muslims, especially as a political force.” What this means is that students and faculty members alike are hereby prohibited from saying anything negative (or truthful) about the Islamic religion.

According to Ihsan Wadud-Rodriguez, a senior who spoke with reporters at UNM’s student-run daily newspaper, this sort of so-called prejudice is driven by “inaccurate and uninformed presumptions about Muslims and the religion they practice.” By stopping the sharing of these so-called uninformed presumptions, the university hopes to therefore stop the prejudice.
