Rare Flower Bloom Makes One of World’s Driest Deserts Come to Life

Isaiah 35:1 – The wilderness and the wasteland shall be glad for them,
And the desert shall rejoice and blossom as the rose;

One of the driest places on the planet is currently experiencing a vibrant flower bloom, making for a rare spectacle for those living in Chile’s Atacama Desert.
The Atacama Desert is located in the north part of the country and barely receives any rain throughout the entire year, making it extremely difficult for any vegetation to grow.
“Rainfall is extremely hard to come by in northern Chile,” AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Kristina Pydynowski said.
However, historic rainfall moved through the region earlier this year which lead to catastrophic flooding, but it also provided water for flower seeds that laid dormant for years.
