A U.S. defense official confirmed ISIS terrorists have taken captive 88 Eritrean refugees – all of whom are believed to be Christians – in Libya. The defense spokesperson, speaking on condition of anonymity, confirmed to Fox News the mass kidnapping occurred when Christians in a people-smuggling convoy were ambushed by ISIS terrorists just outside Tripoli. Meron Estafanos, the co-founder of the Stockholm-based Internatinal Commission on Eritrean Refugees, said those on the convoy included “about 12 Eritrean Muslims and some Egyptians” and “they put them in another truck and they put 12 Eritrean women Christians in a smaller pick-up,” Fox News reported. Estafanos said the terrorists stopped the truck and demanded the Muslims on board to self-identify. Those who did claim adherence to Islam were then asked some questions about the Quran, Fox News said.
