End Times – Paul

The End Times According To Paul

Out of the 13-14 books of the Bible that Paul wrote, he mentioned a couple of end times events.

The Falling Away

Paul wrote in 2 Thessalonians 2:3, “Don’t be fooled by what they say. For that day will not come until there is a great rebellion against God and the man of lawlessness is revealed — the one who brings destruction.” We can disregard the last part of this verse because at the word “and” after the rebellion, there is a large gap of time. This falling away can be seen everywhere today. The defiance of God is running rampant and is reported almost daily in news articles here in America. Atheists, satanists, evolutionists, etc are coming out of the woodwork and some are wanting their own statues set up next to those representing Christianity claiming to be equal, if not superior. Children are being told not to pray in schools, certain groups want fines imposed for praying in Jesus’ name, particular restaurant ads are showing Jesus doing drugs….it’s growing out of control. The spirit of America has taken a turn for the worse and will be severely judged if it doesn’t cease.

Moral Collapse

Probably one of the most commonly seen things in our society is the ever increasing moral collapse. The crime rate worldwide is growing rampantly and it puts citizens and law enforcement figures in a never-ending vicious cycle. The more that society collapses, the more wicked and rebellious the citizens become. The more rebellious the citizens, the more defensive and unforgiving the law enforcement personnel become. The more unforgiving the law enforcement, the greater rebellion from citizen and round and round it goes. It will get to a point where martial law will be enforced, rebellion will increase and so will the death toll. It’s inevitable. To name a few examples of the collapse of the moral society, look at the number of children being killed/abused because of unloving parents, the ever popular “knock-out game” in America, the robbing of the elderly, the rampant sexual perversion, the massive school shooting/stabbings, etc. Society has lost itself in evil and the devil is using every trick in the book to turn people from God. Paul explains this exact behavior is 2 Timothy 3:1-5, “You should know this, Timothy, that in the last days there will be very difficult times. For people will love only themselves and their money. They will be boastful and proud, scoffing at God, disobedient to their parents, and ungrateful. They will consider nothing sacred. They will be unloving and unforgiving; they will slander others and have no self-control. They will be cruel and hate what is good. They will betray friends, be reckless, be puffed up with pride, and love pleasure rather than God. They will act religious, but they will reject the power that could make them Godly. Stay away from people like that!”

Turning Away From True Faith

1 Timothy 4:1-2, “Now the Holy Spirit tells us clearly that in the last times some will turn away from the true faith; they will follow deceptive spirits and teachings that come from demons. These people are hypocrites and liars and their consciences are dead.” Satan’s deception and misdirection is strong. Anything he can use to pull people away from God, he will. One of those deceptions is the the belief that one can be an active homosexual and still be a Christian. Now before I go any further, let me say that Christians have no right to judge anyone and should not hate or discriminate against anyone, including those to be professing homosexuals. It is God’s place to judge not ours. Now, on the flip side of the coin those who think that homosexuality is not a sin should be studying the Word of God and praying about it. A particular professing gay Christian says that all 6 verses in the Bible that refer to homosexuality do so in a negative connotation. By taking these negative statements and trying to turn them into something good brings up the verse Isaiah 5:20, “What sorrow for those who say that evil is good and good is evil, that dark is light and light is dark, that bitter is sweet and sweet is bitter.” This is exactly what is happening here. Because there is not 1 straightforward verse that says “homosexuality is a sin,” people twist it into something that is not wrong. Do not let your conscience be dead!
